The Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the Magdeburg University Hospital (A.ö.R.) have jointly signed the Diversity Charter (Charta der Vielfalt) as Magdeburg University Medicine (UMMD). In doing so, the UMMD is sending a clear signal for the recognition, appreciation, and promotion of diversity as an integral part of its corporate culture for all employees—regardless of nationality, age, gender, religion, cultural and social background, sexual orientation, or physical and mental abilities.

German Diversity Day (DDT) is a nationwide day of action that makes diversity in the workplace visible. Initiated annually since 2012 by the Charta der Vielfalt e. V., it takes place in companies and institutions across the country. The day provides a platform to publicly showcase commitment to diversity and a respectful, prejudice-free working culture.

Diversity Audit for an Equitable University
The OVGU is committed to diversity and is launching a comprehensive Diversity Audit to promote an equitable community. The goal is to dismantle barriers, strengthen equality, and anchor diversity within both the university's mission statement and its social engagement.
The project focuses on inclusion, social background, and the development of a "Diversity Culture." Over the next year and a half, employees will work together in workshops to develop measures, and dedicated training sessions will be offered for executive staff. By earning the "Shaping Diversity" (Vielfalt gestalten) certificate, the university aims to set a future standard for an open, pluralistic community where everyone can reach their full potential.
